Transparent Icing
A simple icing recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Pulverized white sugar
- 1/2 pint Water
- 2 tablespoonfuls Vanilla extract (Originally Royal Extract Vanilla.)
Instructions
- 1Place 1 pound pulverized white sugar in a basin. Add 1/2 pint water.
- 2Boil the sugar and water mixture until it reaches a consistency similar to mucilage.
- 3Rub the sugar mixture against the sides of the pan with a wooden spatula until it turns white and milky.
- 4Stir in two tablespoonfuls of vanilla extract and mix well.
- 5Pour the icing while it is still hot over the top of the cake, ensuring it completely covers the surface.
