To Preserve Currants
A recipe for preserving currants by making a syrup and boiling the fruit until thickened.
Ingredients
- 10 pounds Currants
- 7 pounds Granulated Sugar
Instructions
- 1Remove the stems from 7 pounds of currants. Press the juice from the remaining 3 pounds of currants.
- 2Make the sugar into a hot syrup. Add the prepared currants to the syrup. Boil the mixture until it thickens and becomes rich, approximately 30 minutes.
