Sweet Potato Buns
A recipe for sweet potato buns from the Royal Baker Pastry Cook.
Ingredients
- 3 large Sweet potatoes
- 1 1/2 pints All-purpose flour
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoonfuls Baking powder
- 1 pint Heavy cream
Instructions
- 1Boil the sweet potatoes until tender. This should take about 10-15 minutes. Once cooked, drain the potatoes.
- 2Rub the cooked sweet potatoes very fine with the heavy cream.
- 3Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- 4Add the dry ingredients to the sweet potato preparation. Mix into a rather firm, smooth dough. Form into round pieces the size of a small egg. Lay the buns on a greased baking sheet.
- 5Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake in the hot oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
