Ingredients

  • 1 quart All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoonful Salt
  • 2 teaspoonfuls Baking powder
  • 2/3 cup Butter
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 pint Milk

Instructions

  1. 1Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  2. 2Rub the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. 3Add the beaten eggs and milk to the mixture. Mix until a firm batter forms, similar to a cupcake batter.
  4. 4Pour the batter into two round cake tins, the size of pie plates. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, or until a straw inserted into the center comes out clean.
