Royal Sally Lunns
A classic recipe for Royal Sally Lunns, a type of cake or bread.
Ingredients
- 1 quart All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoonful Salt
- 2 teaspoonfuls Baking powder
- 2/3 cup Butter
- 4 Eggs
- 1/2 pint Milk
Instructions
- 1Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- 2Rub the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3Add the beaten eggs and milk to the mixture. Mix until a firm batter forms, similar to a cupcake batter.
- 4Pour the batter into two round cake tins, the size of pie plates. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, or until a straw inserted into the center comes out clean.
