Rice, Boiled

A simple recipe for boiling rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Butter

Instructions

  1. 1Wash the rice well under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. 2Place the washed rice in a saucepan with 2 cups of hot water and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the water is nearly all absorbed and the rice is soft and the grains are distinct. Shake the pan occasionally during cooking to prevent sticking.
  3. 3Once the rice is cooked, remove from heat and fluff with a fork. Place a good piece of butter on top before serving.
