Rice, Boiled
A simple recipe for boiling rice.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Butter
Instructions
- 1Wash the rice well under cold water until the water runs clear.
- 2Place the washed rice in a saucepan with 2 cups of hot water and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the water is nearly all absorbed and the rice is soft and the grains are distinct. Shake the pan occasionally during cooking to prevent sticking.
- 3Once the rice is cooked, remove from heat and fluff with a fork. Place a good piece of butter on top before serving.
