Quince Jelly
A classic quince jelly recipe.
Ingredients
- as needed Quinces
- as needed Water
- 4 pounds Granulated Sugar
Instructions
- 1Slice the quinces without peeling or coring them.
- 2Place the sliced quinces in a preserving kettle or large pot. Just cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook until the quinces are soft. This will take approximately 20 minutes.
- 3Remove the pot from the heat and strain off the liquid, discarding the quince solids.
- 4For every gallon of strained quince liquid, add 4 pounds of granulated sugar. Boil the mixture rapidly until it becomes a stiff jelly. This may take approximately 5 minutes.
