Quince Jelly

Quince Jelly

A classic quince jelly recipe.

Ingredients

  • as needed Quinces
  • as needed Water
  • 4 pounds Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1Slice the quinces without peeling or coring them.
  2. 2Place the sliced quinces in a preserving kettle or large pot. Just cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook until the quinces are soft. This will take approximately 20 minutes.
  3. 3Remove the pot from the heat and strain off the liquid, discarding the quince solids.
  4. 4For every gallon of strained quince liquid, add 4 pounds of granulated sugar. Boil the mixture rapidly until it becomes a stiff jelly. This may take approximately 5 minutes.
