Oyster Stew
A simple oyster stew recipe.
Ingredients
- as needed Oysters
- as needed Water
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- to taste Pepper
- to taste Salt
- as needed Milk (optional)
Instructions
- 1Place the oysters with their liquor in a stewpan. Add a little water if there isn't enough liquor.
- 2Add 1 tablespoon of butter, pepper, and salt to taste. Cover the stewpan and place over heat. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
- 3If you prefer milk, cover the bottom of the soup plates with cold milk before serving the stew. For well-done oysters, boil the stew for 5 minutes.
