Lima Beans

A simple recipe for preparing lima beans.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint Lima beans
  • as needed Salt
  • 1 piece (size of an egg) Butter
  • 1 teaspoonful All-purpose flour
  • as needed Meat broth (or water)
  • 1 tablespoonful Chopped parsley
  • as needed Black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Place the lima beans in boiling salted water, ensuring they are covered. Cook until tender. Drain the beans.
  2. 2Melt the butter in a pan. Mix in the flour. Add a little meat broth (or water) to make a smooth sauce.
  3. 3Put the cooked beans into the sauce and set aside to simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. 4Just before serving, add the chopped parsley and season to taste with salt and pepper.
