- 1 cup Butter, softened
- 3 cups Sugar
- 7 Eggs
- 1.5 pints Flour
- 1 teaspoon Royal Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Royal Extract of Lemon
Instructions

- 2Add the eggs, two at a time, beating for 5 minutes between each addition.
- 3Add the flour, sifted with the baking powder, and the lemon extract to the batter. Mix until just combined into a medium batter.
- 4Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour batter into a paper-lined tin and bake in a moderate oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
