Indian Pudding No. 2

A classic Indian pudding recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cupful Flour
  • 1 1/4 cupfuls Cornmeal
  • 1/2 cupful Syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoonful Salt
  • 1 quart Milk

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, and salt with a cupful of milk.
  2. 2Pour the remaining milk and syrup into the mixture. Stir well.
  3. 3Stir the mixture occasionally for 30 minutes while it is boiling.
  4. 4Pour the mixture into a well-buttered pudding dish. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C) for 2 hours.
  5. 5Serve warm with Wine Sauce (not included in this recipe).
