Hot Slaw

A simple cabbage slaw cooked until tender.

Ingredients

  • 1 head Hard white cabbage
  • 1 piece (egg-sized) Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/2 teacupful Water
  • 1 teacupful Vinegar

Instructions

  1. 1Cut the head of cabbage in half. Finely shave one half of the cabbage.
  2. 2Place the shaved cabbage in a stewpan. Add the butter, salt, pepper, water, and vinegar. Cover the stewpan and cook the cabbage over medium heat until tender, stirring frequently.
