Honey Cake
A classic honey cake recipe from 1888, adapted for the modern kitchen.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Butter (Melted)
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Honey
- 2 cups Flour (Sifted)
- 1 teaspoon Royal Baking Powder
- 2 Eggs (Slightly beaten)
- 1 teaspoon Caraway Seeds
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, mix the honey with the sugar until well combined. Add the melted butter and slightly beaten eggs. Mix well.
- 2In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and Royal Baking Powder. Add the sifted flour mixture and caraway seeds to the wet ingredients. Mix until a smooth batter forms, ensuring there are no lumps.
- 3Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
