Fried Potatoes
A classic recipe for fried potatoes, modernized for ease of use.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds Potatoes
- 4 tablespoons Butter (or beef dripping) (Originally beef dripping. Substituted with butter for modern preference. Beef dripping can be used for authentic flavor.)
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
Instructions
- 1Boil the potatoes in their skins until tender, about 10-15 minutes. Let them cool completely.
- 2Peel the cooled potatoes and slice them about 1/4-inch thick. Heat the butter (or beef dripping) in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the potato slices and fry until they are a nice delicate brown, about 10-15 minutes per side, flipping them carefully.
- 3Remove the potatoes from the skillet and drain off any excess grease. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
