Farina Pudding

Farina Pudding

A simple pudding recipe based on Arrowroot Pudding, using farina.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart Whole Milk
  • 3 1/2 tablespoonfuls Arrowroot
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 cupful Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoonful Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoonful Cinnamon
  • as needed Butter
  • 2 tablespoonfuls Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1Boil the milk in a saucepan. In a small bowl, dissolve the arrowroot in a little water.
  2. 2Add the dissolved arrowroot and the sugar to the boiling milk. Let it reboil.
  3. 3Remove from the heat. Beat in the eggs, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Pour into a well-buttered earthenware dish.
  4. 4Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 30 minutes. A few minutes before taking from oven, sift 2 tablespoonfuls sugar over it, and set back to glaze.
  5. 5This pudding is generally eaten cold.
