Cream Sauce

A classic cream sauce recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 pint Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 large Egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1Gently bring the 3/4 pint of heavy cream to a simmer in a saucepan over low heat. Alternatively, set the saucepan in a stewpan of boiling water to heat the cream slowly. This should take about 10 minutes.
  2. 2Once the cream reaches a simmer, add the sugar. In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Slowly pour the heated cream mixture over the whipped egg whites, stirring constantly to combine. This should take about 5 minutes.
  3. 3Stir in the vanilla extract. Use immediately.
