Crab-apple Jelly
A simple recipe for crab-apple jelly.
Ingredients
- as needed Crab apples
- as needed Water
- 1 pound Granulated sugar
Instructions
- 1Place the crab apples in a pot and add just enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 2Cook the apples until they are tender. Mash the apples with a spoon. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
- 3Measure the juice. For every pint of juice, add 1 pound of granulated sugar. Boil the mixture for 30 minutes, or until it reaches the gelling point. Strain through a hair sieve.
