Instructions
- 1Combine the sugar and the milk from the coconut in a saucepan. Heat slowly over medium heat until the sugar is completely melted.
- 2Once the sugar is melted, bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
- 3Add the finely grated coconut to the boiling mixture. Continue to boil for another 10 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
- 4Pour the mixture onto buttered plates or a baking sheet. Let it cool and harden. Cut into squares once firm. Allow about two days for the candy to fully harden.
