Chocolate Custards
A classic chocolate custard recipe.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces Grated chocolate
- 2 tablespoonfuls Boiling water
- 1 pint Milk
- 1 pint Heavy cream
- 1 pinch Salt
- 3 ounces Sugar
- 8 count Egg yolks
Instructions
- 1Pour 2 tablespoonfuls of boiling water over 2 ounces of grated chocolate. Let it stand near the heat until perfectly dissolved.
- 2Put the dissolved chocolate into 1 pint of milk mixed with 1 pint of heavy cream, a pinch of salt, and 3 ounces of sugar. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
- 3Add the yolks of 8 well-beaten eggs gradually, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Then, remove from heat and pour out to cool.
