Butter Scotch
A simple recipe for butterscotch candy.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Granulated Sugar
- 2 tablespoonfuls Water
- 1 piece Butter (Amount equivalent to the size of an egg.)
Instructions
- 1In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, without stirring, until the mixture reaches the hard-crack stage (300-310°F or 149-154°C) or until it hardens when dropped into cold water.
- 2Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately add the butter. Stir gently until the butter is melted and incorporated. Pour the hot mixture onto buttered plates to cool completely.
