Broiled Beefsteak
A simple recipe for broiled beefsteak.
Ingredients
- 1 piece Beefsteak
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- as needed Salt
- as needed Black pepper
Instructions
- 1Flatten the beefsteak slightly with a meat mallet or the broad side of a heavy knife. This helps tenderize the meat and ensures even cooking.
- 2Preheat your broiler. Place the buttered gridiron (or a broiler pan) over a clear fire (or under the broiler). Broil the beefsteak for approximately 3-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the steak and the heat of your broiler.
- 3Place the broiled beefsteak on a hot dish. Season generously with salt and pepper. Cut a large spoonful of butter into small bits and place them on top of the steak. Cover with a hot dish for 5 minutes before carving and serving.
