Broiled Beefsteak

Broiled Beefsteak

A simple recipe for broiled beefsteak.

Ingredients

  • 1 piece Beefsteak
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • as needed Salt
  • as needed Black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Flatten the beefsteak slightly with a meat mallet or the broad side of a heavy knife. This helps tenderize the meat and ensures even cooking.
  2. 2Preheat your broiler. Place the buttered gridiron (or a broiler pan) over a clear fire (or under the broiler). Broil the beefsteak for approximately 3-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the steak and the heat of your broiler.
  3. 3Place the broiled beefsteak on a hot dish. Season generously with salt and pepper. Cut a large spoonful of butter into small bits and place them on top of the steak. Cover with a hot dish for 5 minutes before carving and serving.
