Brandy Peaches
A classic recipe for preserving peaches in a brandy syrup.
Ingredients
- as needed Peaches
- as needed Water
- as needed Sugar
- as needed Brandy
Instructions
- 1Place the peaches in a pot of hot water. Let them sit until the skins can be easily removed. This should take a few minutes.
- 2Make a thin syrup by dissolving sugar in water over medium heat. Let the syrup cover the fruit.
- 3Boil the fruit in the syrup until they can be pierced easily with a straw. This will take approximately 10 minutes.
- 4Remove the fruit from the syrup. Make a very rich syrup (more sugar). Add an equal quantity of brandy to the hot syrup after it is taken from the fire.
- 5Pour the warm syrup over the peaches in a jar, ensuring the peaches are completely covered.
