Brandy Peaches

A classic recipe for preserving peaches in a brandy syrup.

Ingredients

  • as needed Peaches
  • as needed Water
  • as needed Sugar
  • as needed Brandy

Instructions

  1. 1Place the peaches in a pot of hot water. Let them sit until the skins can be easily removed. This should take a few minutes.
  2. 2Make a thin syrup by dissolving sugar in water over medium heat. Let the syrup cover the fruit.
  3. 3Boil the fruit in the syrup until they can be pierced easily with a straw. This will take approximately 10 minutes.
  4. 4Remove the fruit from the syrup. Make a very rich syrup (more sugar). Add an equal quantity of brandy to the hot syrup after it is taken from the fire.
  5. 5Pour the warm syrup over the peaches in a jar, ensuring the peaches are completely covered.
