Boiled Mutton

A simple recipe for boiled mutton, a traditional dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Mutton
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 cup Drawn butter
  • 8 cups Water

Instructions

  1. 1Place the mutton in a pot with plenty of boiling water. Add salt. Cook for 12 minutes per pound of mutton.
  2. 2Remove the mutton from the water. Carefully wipe it with a hot, wet cloth. Butter all over.
  3. 3Serve the mutton with a cup of drawn butter in a sauceboat.
