Boiled Ham

Boiled Ham

A classic recipe for boiled ham, finished in the oven for improved flavor and tenderness.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Ham
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. 1Boil the ham for 3 to 4 hours, depending on its size. Ensure the ham is fully submerged in water.
  2. 2After boiling, remove the ham from the water and let it cool slightly. Skin the whole ham and place it on a baking sheet or in a roasting pan.
  3. 3Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the prepared ham in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. 4Remove the ham from the oven. Cover it thickly with bread crumbs. Return the ham to the oven and bake for another 30 minutes, or until the bread crumbs are golden brown and the ham is heated through.
  5. 5For improved flavor and tenderness, let the ham dry out in the oven for an additional 30 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
