Apple Pudding (English)

A traditional English apple pudding recipe.

Ingredients

  • as needed Paste (pie crust)
  • 12 or 14 Apples (Peeled, cored, and sliced.)
  • 1 teaspoonful Nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cupfuls Sugar
  • as needed Water (For boiling water in saucepan.)

Instructions

  1. 1Line an earthenware pudding mold with paste (pie crust).
  2. 2Pack the sliced apples, sugar, and nutmeg into the prepared mold. Wet the edges of the paste.
  3. 3Cover the pudding with the paste, pinch the edges firmly together to seal. Place the mold in a saucepan with 1/2 full of boiling water. Simmer for 30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is cooked.
