CHOCOLATE PUDDING (Budino di Cioccolata)

A classic Italian chocolate pudding recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 oz Ground macaroons
  • 1 1/2 squares Unsweetened chocolate

Instructions

  1. 1In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, and chocolate. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the chocolate is melted and the sugar is dissolved. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs. Gradually whisk a small amount of the warm milk mixture into the eggs to temper them. Then, slowly pour the egg mixture into the saucepan with the remaining milk mixture, stirring constantly. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the custard thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 10-15 minutes). Stir in the ground macaroons.
  2. 2Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes or a larger bowl. Let it cool slightly, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow it to set. Serve chilled.
