Tinned Asparagus on Toast
A simple and quick way to prepare tinned asparagus, served on hot toast. A classic and convenient dish.
Ingredients
- 1 tin (14-15 oz) Tinned Asparagus
- 4 cups Water (Sufficient to cover the tin)
- 2 slices Bread (For toast)
- 1 tablespoon Butter (Optional, for toast)
Instructions
- 1Place the unopened tin of asparagus in a saucepan. Add enough cold water to completely cover the tin.
- 2Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, let it boil for 5 minutes.
- 3Carefully remove the tin from the saucepan. Using a can opener, cut the tin open around the edge, as close to the edge as possible to avoid breaking the asparagus. Drain off the liquid.
- 4While the asparagus is draining, toast the bread slices until golden brown.
- 5Butter the toast (optional). Serve the drained asparagus on the freshly made hot toast.
