Tinned Asparagus on Toast

A simple and quick way to prepare tinned asparagus, served on hot toast. A classic and convenient dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 tin (14-15 oz) Tinned Asparagus
  • 4 cups Water (Sufficient to cover the tin)
  • 2 slices Bread (For toast)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (Optional, for toast)

Instructions

  1. 1Place the unopened tin of asparagus in a saucepan. Add enough cold water to completely cover the tin.
  2. 2Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, let it boil for 5 minutes.
  3. 3Carefully remove the tin from the saucepan. Using a can opener, cut the tin open around the edge, as close to the edge as possible to avoid breaking the asparagus. Drain off the liquid.
  4. 4While the asparagus is draining, toast the bread slices until golden brown.
  5. 5Butter the toast (optional). Serve the drained asparagus on the freshly made hot toast.
