Pumpkin Pie

A classic pumpkin pie recipe, modernized for ease of preparation and delicious flavor. Can be served with Devonshire cream or ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Pumpkin (About 1.5 pounds after peeling and removing seeds)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Allspice
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 1 single Pie crust (Store-bought or homemade)
  • 1.5 pounds Apples (Optional, peeled and sliced)

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the pumpkin, remove the seeds and stringy parts. Cut the pumpkin into small, thin slices.
  2. 2Line a pie dish with the pie crust. Arrange the pumpkin slices in the pie crust. If using apples, mix them with the pumpkin. Add allspice and sugar. Pour in water.
  3. 3Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
  4. 4Let the pie cool completely before serving. Serve with Devonshire cream or ice cream, if desired.
