Pumpkin Pie
A classic pumpkin pie recipe, modernized for ease of preparation and delicious flavor. Can be served with Devonshire cream or ice cream.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds Pumpkin (About 1.5 pounds after peeling and removing seeds)
- 0.5 teaspoon Allspice
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 0.25 cup Water
- 1 single Pie crust (Store-bought or homemade)
- 1.5 pounds Apples (Optional, peeled and sliced)
Instructions
- 1Peel the pumpkin, remove the seeds and stringy parts. Cut the pumpkin into small, thin slices.
- 2Line a pie dish with the pie crust. Arrange the pumpkin slices in the pie crust. If using apples, mix them with the pumpkin. Add allspice and sugar. Pour in water.
- 3Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
- 4Let the pie cool completely before serving. Serve with Devonshire cream or ice cream, if desired.
