Potato Ribbons
Thinly sliced potato ribbons, deep-fried until golden and crispy, seasoned with salt, pepper, and a touch of lemon juice.
Ingredients
- 2 medium Potatoes
- 2 cups Vegetable oil (For deep frying)
- 0.25 tsp Salt (To taste)
- 0.125 tsp Black pepper (Freshly ground, to taste)
- 1 tsp Lemon juice (Freshly squeezed)
Instructions
- 1Peel the potatoes in the ordinary way. Then, using a vegetable peeler or a knife (not too sharp), peel the potato in a continuous spiral, creating long, thin ribbons, similar to peeling an apple. Continue peeling until only a small core remains.
- 2Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- 3Carefully add the potato ribbons to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove the ribbons with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 4Transfer the fried potato ribbons to a serving dish. Season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve immediately.
