Plain Boiled Cauliflower
A simple recipe for boiling cauliflower, similar to boiling broccoli.
Ingredients
- 1 medium head Cauliflower (About 2 pounds)
- 6 cups Water (Enough to cover the cauliflower)
- 1 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste)
Instructions
- 1Wash the cauliflower thoroughly. Remove the outer green leaves and trim the stem. Cut the cauliflower into florets, or leave whole if small.
- 2Place the cauliflower florets (or whole head) in a large pot. Add enough water to cover the cauliflower. Add salt to the water.
- 3Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and simmer until the cauliflower is tender. This will take about 10-15 minutes, depending on the size of the florets. Check for doneness by piercing a floret with a fork; it should be easily pierced but not mushy.
- 4Drain the cauliflower in a colander. Serve immediately. You can add butter, herbs, or other seasonings to taste.
