Pineapple Jelly
A simple jelly made from the syrup of preserved pineapple, thickened with cornstarch. Perfect for using leftover syrup or adding a tropical twist to desserts.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Pineapple Syrup (From preserved pineapple)
- 0.5 cup Water (Adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons Cornstarch (For thickening)
Instructions
- 1In a saucepan, combine the pineapple syrup and water. Stir well to mix.
- 2In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of cold water to form a slurry. This prevents lumps.
- 3Bring the syrup mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Gradually pour in the cornstarch slurry, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens to a jelly-like consistency.
- 4Pour the thickened mixture into a mould or serving dish. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set completely.
