Peach Fritters
A simple dessert of fried peach slices in a light batter, flavored with a hint of liqueur.
Ingredients
- 2 large, firm Peaches (Fresh or canned (in syrup, drained))
- 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
- 1 Egg
- 0.25 cup Milk
- 1 tablespoon Noyeau liqueur (or Amaretto) (Optional)
- 1 cup Vegetable oil (For frying)
- 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (For dusting)
Instructions
- 1If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them into 1/4-inch thick slices. If using canned peaches, drain them well and select only the firm pieces.
- 2In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, egg, and milk until smooth. Stir in the liqueur (if using).
- 3Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
- 4Dip each peach slice into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated. Carefully place the coated peach slices into the hot oil, a few at a time, without overcrowding the fryer. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove the fritters with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 5Dust the peach fritters with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
