Modern Tinned Peas

A simple and quick way to prepare tinned peas, enhancing their flavor with fresh mint, sugar, and butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 15 oz can Tinned Peas
  • 4 sprigs Fresh Mint
  • 0.25 teaspoon Granulated Sugar
  • 0.125 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 4 cups Water

Instructions

  1. 1Place the unopened tin of peas in a saucepan with cold water. Ensure the tin is fully submerged. Bring the water to a boil and let it boil for 5 minutes.
  2. 2While the peas are heating, wash the fresh mint sprigs. In a small saucepan, bring some water to a boil and add the mint sprigs. Boil for 2 minutes. Drain the mint and set aside.
  3. 3Carefully remove the tin from the boiling water. Cut open the tin at the top and pour out the liquid. Transfer the peas to a serving dish. While the peas are still hot, add the sugar, salt, and butter. Stir gently to combine.
  4. 4Garnish the peas with the boiled fresh mint sprigs and serve immediately.
