Grilled Tomatoes

Simple grilled tomatoes, perfect as a side dish or topping.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium Tomatoes (Choose ripe but firm tomatoes)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (Or melted butter)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly ground, to taste)

Instructions

  1. 1Wash the tomatoes. You can grill them whole or cut them in half. If grilling whole, gently pierce the skin with a fork to prevent bursting.
  2. 2Brush the tomatoes with olive oil (or melted butter) and season with salt and pepper.
  3. 3Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the tomatoes on the grill and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until slightly softened and grill marks appear. Be careful, as they are apt to break.
  4. 4Serve immediately as a side dish with macaroni, rice, or as a topping for other dishes.
