Grilled Mushrooms
A simple recipe for grilling large mushrooms, seasoned with oil, pepper, salt, and lemon juice.
Ingredients
- 2 Large Mushrooms (e.g., Portobello) (Choose mushrooms with large, flat caps.)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (Or melted butter)
- 0.25 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
- 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly ground, to taste)
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice (Freshly squeezed)
Instructions
- 1Wash the mushrooms gently to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with paper towels. Peel the caps if desired (optional, but recommended for a smoother texture).
- 2Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Ensure the grill is clean to prevent sticking.
- 3Brush the mushrooms with olive oil (or melted butter) on both sides. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- 4Place the mushrooms on the preheated grill, cap-side down. Grill for 5-7 minutes per side, or until tender and slightly charred. Avoid overcrowding the grill; cook in batches if necessary.
- 5Remove the grilled mushrooms from the grill and place them on a serving plate. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the mushrooms. Serve immediately while hot.
