Fond d'Artichoke with Butter Sauce

A simple and elegant dish featuring artichoke bottoms served with a classic butter sauce. Perfect as a side dish or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Canned Artichoke Bottoms (Or fresh artichoke bottoms, cooked until tender)
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (For the butter sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice (Freshly squeezed)
  • 1 pinch Salt (To taste)
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper (Freshly ground, to taste)
  • 4 wedges Lemon Wedges (For serving)

Instructions

  1. 1If using canned artichoke bottoms, drain them well. If using fresh, cook them until tender. You can steam, boil, or bake them.
  2. 2In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Be careful not to brown it. Once melted, stir in the lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  3. 3Gently heat the artichoke bottoms. You can do this in a microwave for about 30 seconds, or in a pan with a little butter over low heat.
  4. 4Place the heated artichoke bottoms on a plate. Drizzle generously with the butter sauce. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
