Emergency Biscuit

Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 3 tablespoons Butter (or lard) (Originally lard and butter. Substituted with butter for modern preference. Can also use vegetable shortening.)
- 7/8 cup Milk
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 2Cut the butter (or lard) into the dry ingredients using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3Add the milk to the dry ingredients, mixing gently with a fork or knife until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 4Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a buttered baking sheet, placing them about one inch apart. Bake for 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
