Step 1
Take the cooked rice on a plate and gently spread it out. Add chilly powder, salt, and garam masala to the rice and mix well.
Step 2
In a frying pan heat up the oil on medium flame. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds to the oil and them splutter.
Step 3
Add chopped onions to the frying pan and saute the onion till they turn light golden. Add chopped tomato to the pan and cook till the tomato softens. Add the rice we mixed with the spices to the frying pan. Stir-fry well and add lemon juice to the rice.
Step 4
Cook the rice on low flame till the rice turns aromatic.
For different variations, you can use turmeric instead of red chilly. You can also add Malvani Masala or Goda Masala instead of Garam Masala.
